How to Download CSV from Your Bank
Step-by-step guides for exporting transaction data
Banks & Credit Cards
Credit cards issued by these banks use the same download process as checking accounts.
- Log in to chase.com
- Select your account
- Click the download icon near "Account Activity"
- Select "Download account activity"
- Choose format: CSV or Excel
- Select date range (up to 24 months)
- Click Download
Same process for Chase credit cards. Max 1,000 transactions per download.
- Log in to bankofamerica.com
- Select your account
- Click "Download" button
- Choose "Microsoft Excel" or "CSV"
- Select date range
- Click Download
Works for both checking accounts and BofA credit cards.
- Log in to wellsfargo.com
- Go to your account
- Click "Download Account Activity"
- Select format: Comma Delimited (.csv)
- Choose your date range
- Click Download
- Log in to capitalone.com
- Select your account (bank or credit card)
- Click "Download Transactions"
- Choose CSV or Excel
- Select date range
- Download
Works for 360 accounts, Quicksilver, Venture, and all Capital One cards.
- Log in to chime.com or open the app
- Go to "Move Money" > "Statements & Activity"
- Select "Download transactions"
- Choose CSV format
- Select date range

- Log in to americanexpress.com
- Go to "Statements & Activity"
- Click "Download Your Statement Data"
- Select format: CSV or Excel
- Choose date range

Works for all Amex cards (Gold, Platinum, Blue Cash, etc.).
- Log in to discover.com
- Go to your card account
- Click "Statements & Activity"
- Select "Download" next to the date range
- Choose Excel or CSV format
Works for Discover it, Cashback, and all Discover cards.
- Log in to citi.com
- Select your account
- Go to "View Activity"
- Click "Download"
- Choose CSV or Quicken (QFX)
- Select date range
Works for Citi Double Cash, Custom Cash, and all Citi cards.
Payment Apps
- Log in to paypal.com
- Go to "Activity" in the top menu
- Click "Statements" or scroll down to see transactions
- Click "Download" icon (or Reports > Activity Download)
- Select "CSV" format
- Choose date range (up to 7 years available)
- Click "Create Report" then Download
- Log in to venmo.com (must use desktop website)
- Click "Statements" in the left sidebar
- Select the date range you need
- Click "Download CSV"
Limited to 90 days per download. For longer history, download in chunks.
- Open Cash App or go to cash.app
- Tap your profile icon
- Select "Documents"
- Go to "Activity" tab
- Tap the export icon (top right)
- Choose CSV format
- Open Wallet app on iPhone
- Tap your Apple Card
- Tap the "..." menu (top right)
- Select "Export Transactions"
- Choose CSV format
- Select date range
- Share/save the file
Export only available on iPhone, not Mac or web.
- Zelle transactions appear in your bank account
- Download CSV from your bank (see bank guides above)
- Zelle transfers will be included with your regular transactions
Zelle is not a separate account - check your bank's CSV export.
- Look for download icons — Usually a downward arrow near your transaction list
- Check "Activity" not "Statements" — Statements are typically PDFs
- Use desktop, not mobile — CSV download is often only on the full website
- Date range limits — Most banks limit CSV downloads to 1-2 years of history
Most banks follow a similar pattern. Look for these options in your online banking:
- "Download" or "Export" buttons near transaction history
- "Account Activity" with a download icon
- Format options: CSV, Excel, QFX, or OFX
If your bank only offers PDF statements, consider using our Plaid bank sync (Pro feature) for automatic transaction imports.
